Composite panels from Viva meet evolving needs

Conversation with Mayank Jain Curated by Ar. Kritika Juneja, Editor Interior Exterior Magazine

Could you give us an insight into your journey with Viva Composites so far?

The journey with Viva Composite Panel has been nothing short of extraordinary. When we started, the composite panel industry in India was still evolving. It was a challenging space, but we saw it as an opportunity to create something remarkable. Our vision was to not only meet domestic demands but also set global standards. Over the years, we’ve grown from a fledgling company to one of the most trusted names in the ACP industry. This journey has been fueled by innovation, an unwavering commitment to quality, and our responsibility toward sustainability. Every milestone, from establishing cutting-edge manufacturing facilities to building a robust distribution network, has been a step toward earning the trust of our customers. Looking back, it fills me with pride to see how far we’ve come and how much more potential lies ahead.

Would you mind walking us through your manufacturing process?

Of course! At Viva, we believe in combining cutting-edge technology with eco-conscious practices to deliver top-quality products. Our manufacturing process begins with the careful selection of raw materials, where we prioritize high-grade aluminum and eco-friendly polyethylene. These materials form the backbone of our panels. The next step is surface coating, where advanced coil-coating technology is used to ensure vibrant colors that are durable and fade-resistant.

Once coated, the aluminum is bonded with the core material through high-temperature lamination, a process that guarantees strength and precision. Finally, the panels are cut and finished to meet specific requirements. Throughout this entire process, strict quality control measures are in place to ensure that every panel meets our standards. What’s unique about our process is the focus on sustainability—by minimizing waste and recycling wherever possible, we ensure that our manufacturing has a minimal environmental footprint.

De-Madera collection: what it is and what makes it sustainable?

The De-Madera Collection holds a special place in our portfolio. It’s a range of aluminum composite panels that beautifully replicate the look and feel of natural wood. But what sets it apart is its commitment to sustainability. Instead of using actual wood, we’ve designed these panels to offer the same warmth and elegance while drastically reducing the environmental impact.

The panels are lightweight, durable, and long-lasting, which makes them a practical choice for a variety of applications, from exteriors to interiors. By choosing De-Madera, architects and designers can achieve the aesthetic charm of wood without contributing to deforestation. This collection embodies our philosophy of innovation with a purpose—where beauty meets responsibility.

Would you tell us more about the Honeycomb panels and their utilisation?

Honeycomb panels are one of the most innovative products we’ve developed. What makes them unique is their core structure, which is designed like a honeycomb. This gives the panels an exceptional strength-to-weight ratio, making them both sturdy and lightweight.

These panels also offer great thermal and acoustic insulation, which makes them highly versatile. They’ve found applications in a range of industries, from construction to transportation and even aviation. For instance, they’re used in building facades, interiors, and partitions, but they’re also ideal for vehicles like buses and trains because of their lightweight nature. They’re a perfect example of how smart design can enhance functionality while remaining eco-friendly.

What are your latest product offerings?

At Viva, innovation never stops, and we’re always working on introducing products that meet evolving market needs. Recently, we’ve launched a few exciting additions to our portfolio. For instance, our new anti-bacterial panels are designed for spaces where hygiene is critical, such as hospitals and clinics. We’ve also introduced fire-retardant panels that meet international safety standards, offering a much-needed layer of protection for modern buildings.

Another exciting product is our PVDF coated panels, which are not only durable but also self-cleaning, making them a low-maintenance option for exteriors. These offerings reflect our focus on blending functionality, safety, and aesthetic appeal. By listening to our customers and staying ahead of industry trends, we continue to expand our range of innovative solutions.
