Kirti Dodeja masterfully crafted the design of this home, bringing together two individual apartments into one seamless space seamlessly flowing into each other. Two floors and a terrace make up the 4,350 sq.ft home where the clients love to entertain. The front and rear views of the space acted as a steppingstone for Kirti to design this home, resplendent with natural light in all pockets.Upon entering, you are greeted by a formal living room with a large U-shaped seating area. There is a private reading nook, which appears to be integrated into the room. The console opposite the reading nook has baskets for storing all-time favorites, which can be enjoyed from the armchairs. An 8-seater wood dining table has a black metal base, perfectly balanced by hanging lights and a picture frame of the same colour. The neutral palette of the house interiors allows the space to dynamically adapt to changing occasions. The house has been conceptualised to be a clean canvas to paint in the colours of a party, a humble abode to kick back and relax after a long day or to host guests for stayovers. To avoid neutral subdued tones to feel mundane or monotonous, pockets of the house has bold black/ white minimal colour scheme. The 150 Kg handcrafted black metal table on the upper floor informal living area adds a hint of strong character in the serene neutrals. Black and white add a bit of energy in the otherwise calming shades of whites and beige. This upliftment of tone can be experienced in the kitchen and one of the guest rooms. The addition of matt black painted metal can be witnessed in the guest bedroom. It has its own distinct identity while maintaining the overall minimal tone of voice. Black and white hints continue in the powder room and the guest bedroom while abundant natural light compliments the overall colour scheme.
As the front side of the building had lush green trees and the rear side had an expansive view of the building and other services, the design direction was clear. Kirti, the designer, decided to celebrate by opening up the front side and allowing light to wash in but blocking the view from the rear side.
