After COVID, the idea of home shifted. People wanted bigger, calmer, more open spaces some even moved toward villas outside the city. But our clients sought something different a home within city limits that still felt like a bungalow. Arcus Apartments, with its expansive 2000 sq. ft. layout and serene Pashan Hill view, became the obvious choice. To bring this vision to life, they chose Ogling Inches to transform the space into a refined, bungalow like retreat in the heart of the city.

Ar. Prashant Kulshreshtha describes,
"The Aim Was Simple: To Honor the Space and The People Living in It. Every Corner Is Designed With Purpose, Comfort And A Touch Of Personality."
Designing a home for a young couple and their child came with a simple yet heartfelt expectation: every corner of the house needed to feel lived in, loved and thoughtfully created for their lifestyle. From the very beginning, the clients expressed their desire for a home that was warm, comfortable and functional, one that quietly supported their daily routines without losing its sense of charm. With this in mind, the design direction naturally leaned towards contemporary minimalism, softened with intentional pops of colour that would bring joy without overpowering the calmness of the space.
The overarching idea was to do justice to the home’s generous layout. Each room had to feel meaningful and clutter-free, while still holding its own personality. As the planning unfolded, the home began to embrace an effortless visual openness, the living, dining and circulation areas flowed into one another, guided by natural light pouring in from large windows. Minimal furniture profiles and sheer curtains allowed this brightness to travel uninterrupted, creating a subtle harmony throughout. Meanwhile, the private rooms were shaped with the users in mind: a serene master bedroom, a functional work-from-home nook, and a kids’ room that encouraged creativity and play.
The process, however, brought with it a few early challenges. One of the most significant was the living room ceiling. The clients imagined a slightly dramatic, sculptural statement, while the design team gravitated toward something more minimal and serene. The eventual solution, a fluid, contoured ceiling with integrated lighting, beautifully blended both visions, adding depth without disturbing the quiet aesthetic of the home. There were also unexpected hurdles, such as finding a hammock vendor who could work within a small area, or coordinating wallpaper installation onto a ceiling, each requiring extra patience and technical teamwork.
As the home took shape, the materials and details began to speak softly yet confidently. Custom carpentry, layered textures, and touches of bespoke metalwork, especially for the kids’ climbing ladder and net frame, brought character in understated ways. A neutral palette of creams, greys and warm wood tones served as the perfect canvas for selective accents of teal, mustard and turquoise, creating cheerful highlights that lifted the home’s personality. PU paint introduced refinement in key spots like the TV unit and master wardrobe, elevating the overall visual balance.
Among all the spaces, the kids’ bedroom emerged as the most delightful corner of the home. The hammock-style net, designed with playful engineering, created a safe elevated zone for reading and daydreaming. Dollar-shaped climbing steps, colourful shelving and a cosy window bay fused functionality with childhood wonder, making the room both joyful and practical.
What ultimately sets this project apart is its quiet balance. It manages to remain calm and minimal, yet never feels plain. It expresses personality without noise, and sophistication without excess. The combination of sculptural elements, thoughtful planning and warm, experience driven design results in a home that feels deeply personal to its residents. In the end, this project stands as a reminder that simplicity, when crafted with intention, can create the most meaningful and enduring spaces.
