The Dance of Doors

A standout feature of "Pause" is its innovative sliding and pivot door system—an architectural  embrace of flexibility. This unique configuration allows for the reimagining of space at a  moment's notice. When both doors are closed perpendicular to one another, the living area is  beautifully enclosed, leading into the dining space like a secret passage. One door slides  effortlessly into a hollow partition, merging the living and dining areas for lively gatherings, while  the other pivots to offer direct access from the main entryway. This fluidity enhances the  usability of the home, creating an environment that adapts to the needs of its inhabitants,  whether for intimate dinners or boisterous celebrations.

A Breath of Fresh Air

Stepping into this clean and airy abode, one is immediately enveloped by a sense of calm. The  design is a thoughtful symphony of custom textural and functional elements—cane, oak wood,  and terracotta harmoniously intertwine, bringing warmth to the exposed concrete ceilings and  grounding dark flooring. The essence of nature flows through every corner, encouraging a  feeling of tranquility.

Living Space: A Pebble-Inspired Oasis

The heart of this retreat is the living space, where a custom-designed sofa inspired by the  smooth contours of pebbles beckons one to sink in and unwind. With large, comfortable forms  and striking metal detailing in the backrest, it offers both support and an invitation to laze away  the day. Surrounding a central table, concentric benches provide multifunctionality; whether  serving as secondary tables for gatherings, game-playing seats, or footstools pulled close, they  adapt to the mood of the moment.

A Tapestry of Textures

Each element within the home speaks to the simplicity and beauty of raw, earthy, and organic  materials. The monolithic dining table, crafted from Indian stone with a river finish, stands as a  testament to nature’s artistry, while lamps fashioned from banana fiber and cane provide a soft

glow, reminiscent of the dappled light filtering through leaves. Bedrooms are sanctuaries of  solace, featuring live wooden backrests and simple beds that invite restful nights and lazy  mornings. The kid’s bedroom boasts a lower platform bed, designed to keep the space open  and airy, fostering a sense of adventure and play.

A Place to Laze

Ultimately, "Pause: The Second Home" transcends the notion of a mere weekend getaway; it  embodies the essence of leisure and relaxation. This thoughtfully curated space invites families  to disconnect from the demands of daily life and reconnect with one another, celebrating the joy  of simply being. In this home, every corner is a reminder to pause, breathe, and relish the  moments that truly matter.
