Located in the rapidly evolving commercial landscape of Surat, Gujarat, this 1,500-square-foot showroom redefines the conventional retail experience for water technology products. As Gujarat’s first luxury showroom dedicated to gas water heaters and advanced RO water solutions, the space showcases internationally renowned brands such as AO Smith and Xylem, transforming technical equipment into objects of design and innovation.

The showroom is thoughtfully organized into four distinct zones: a pioneering Live Demonstration Area at the entrance, a central Lounge Exhibition Space with a prominent window display, a private Main Cabin, and a functional Storage Area. Together, these zones create a seamless journey that balances product engagement, customer interaction, and operational efficiency.
Client Brief
The client envisioned a sophisticated retail environment that would elevate the presence of globally recognized brands while maintaining complete visual restraint. Rather than relying on decorative embellishments, the design sought to create an elegant and timeless backdrop where the products themselves would become the focal point. A neutral material palette was therefore essential, allowing the distinctive forms, finishes, and technologies of the displayed machines to command attention.
The client envisioned a sophisticated retail environment that would elevate the presence of globally recognized brands while maintaining complete visual restraint. Rather than relying on decorative embellishments, the design sought to create an elegant and timeless backdrop where the products themselves would become the focal point. A neutral material palette was therefore essential, allowing the distinctive forms, finishes, and technologies of the displayed machines to command attention.
Concept: Industrial Idyllic
The design philosophy stems from the belief that every machine possesses its own identity and character. Drawing inspiration from the products themselves, along with the client’s curated mood boards, the showroom was conceived as an “Industrial Idyllic” environment—an immersive setting where industrial precision meets understated warmth.
The space celebrates authenticity through honest materials and a holistic design language. By embracing simplicity and reducing visual noise, the interior establishes a calm and refined atmosphere that subtly amplifies the presence of the products. Every design decision was guided by the intention to create a natural, truthful, and enduring environment that complements rather than competes with the technology on display.

Exposed plywood surfaces introduce warmth and craftsmanship, while stucco-finished concrete walls provide a raw and tactile backdrop. Powder-coated metal elements reinforce the industrial narrative, lending precision and durability to the space. Underfoot, fabric-finished flooring softens the overall experience, contributing comfort and acoustic balance while enhancing the showroom’s understated elegance.
The restrained palette allows texture, light, and proportion to become the primary design elements, creating a sophisticated canvas for product presentation.
Spatial Experience
The showroom is designed as a curated exhibition rather than a conventional retail outlet. Upon entering, visitors are welcomed by Gujarat’s first live demonstration zone, where products can be experienced in action, fostering direct engagement and understanding.
At the heart of the showroom lies the central exhibit lounge, conceived as a gallery-like environment where products are displayed with clarity and intention. The arrangement balances occupied and unoccupied spaces, ensuring that every product receives individual prominence while maintaining an overall sense of openness and calm.
Custom-designed furniture pieces—including display consoles, brochure organizers, demonstration units, and cabin furnishings—have been treated as sculptural objects within the space. Each element possesses its own identity and visual weight, reflecting the unique character of the products they support while remaining aligned with the overall design language.
