The 3BHK residence, 'Nivasa,' is not just an apartment; it is a meticulously crafted escape, a celebration of soft design and tactile comfort conceptualized by Architect Rutuja Parale. Located in the bustling locality of Oberoi Splendor, the home acts as a tranquil counterpoint to the city's energy, defined by its signature use of curves, bespoke wall art, and a sophisticated pastel colour scheme.
Design here is an exercise in warm, layered neutrality with a distinctive pop of colour and texture:
The Headboard as the Focal Point: The eye is immediately drawn to the velvety, segmented headboardupholstered in a deep, yet muted, terracotta or dusty rose hue. The vertical channels add a tailored, luxurious feel, anchoring the large space.
Artful Integration: The wall above the bed is ingeniously transformed into a feature through a large, recessed arch niche. Inside this arch, a bespoke abstract mural flows across the wall, featuring organic shapes in complementary tones of soft peach, subtle sage green, and light beige. This artistic touch replaces traditional framed art, making the wall itself the masterpiece.
Comfort Layered: The bedding continues the theme of texture, combining a clean white base with an array of throw pillows—from chunky knit to fringed macrame—in blush pinks, off-whites, and creamy textures. The result is a look that is immensely inviting and soft.
The Kids' Creative Nook
The functional areas are treated with the same playful rigour. The children's study and storage area is an explosion of joyful design, utilizing the same arched forms but in a bold, multi-coloured application. Cabinetry above the desk uses pastel pink, blue, yellow, and green, framing cute graphic cutouts and providing ample, organized storage. The rounded, yellow desk and the charming rainbow-themed drawer unit ensure that even a utilitarian space feels entirely magical and inspiring.
Nivasa proves that minimalist principles can be married with warm colours and soft textures to create a home that is utterly chic, deeply personal, and a true sanctuary.
The Guest/Secondary Bedroom: Tropical Teal Tranquility
The second bedroom pivots to a cooler, more vibrant palette while maintaining the design's commitment to soft lines and texture, evoking a serene, resort-like feel:
Vibrant Upholstery: The centerpiece is a striking teal upholstered headboard, again featuring vertical fluting. This bright, yet sophisticated shade of blue-green is a burst of personality against the room’s otherwise light backdrop.
The Backdrop: The walls are painted in a soothing light mint or pale seafoam green, a perfect pairing for the teal. The headboard is flanked by two tall, custom arched wooden panels, which frame a dreamy, hand-painted tropical mural featuring lush greenery and palm fronds. This detail not only adds depth but transports the user to an exotic, calming environment.
